She will be responsible for organising judges from Australia and New Zealand (and perhaps Samoa and Fiji). Tate is our regional Deputy Chief Adjudicator for Asia, the fastest growing and most diverse region in global debating.

Deputy Chief Adjudicator

Will Jones

Will Jones is a postgraduate studying African politics at the University of Oxford. He is the current World and European Champion of universities debating and is responsible for all adjudication matters concerning Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Will has been part of the Chief Adjudication teams at the European Championships 2007 and other tournaments in Tallinn, Kiev, Amsterdam, Dublin and Oxford, is a former Director of Coaching at the Dutch-Anglo Parliamentary Debating Institute (DAPDI) and the current Scottish Schools Debating Coach. He will be travelling extensively between now and 2010, for example at the Holy Land Open, Yeditepe and the IONA winter circuit. He is looking for ways of funding a trip to PAUDC and Israeli Nationals and is extremely keen to meet as much of the circuit as possible before Worlds. If you are running a tournament that he can help at, please let him know.

TAB Director

Ahmet Engin Ural

Engin Ural is an institution at Koç University. When he was President of the Debate Club, it was his idea that we should bid for the European Universities Debating Championships when no-one else would have thought it was possible. At those Championships, he ran the most efficient tab in Euros history and we believe he will achieve that same feat at Worlds, using his experience of tabbing at many other large tournaments over the last five years. Engin was also the Chief Adjudicator of the Turkish Nationals in 2006. He is currently a doctoral student in Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences at Brown University.
